MATCH : Dustin Rhodes/Ricky Steamboat v The Enforcers

EVENT : Clash of the Champions 17

VENUE : Savannah, Georgia

DATE : 19th November 1991

CHAMPIONSHIP : NWA World Tag Team Titles

BACKGROUND : At Halloween Havoc both Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham were attacked by The Enforcers (Arn Anderson & Larry Zbyszko) with Windham having a car door shut on his hand. This set up a match at Clash of the Champions between The Enforcers and Dustin Rhodes with a mystery partner. The mystery partner would turn out to be Ricky 'The Dragon' Stramboat returning from a somewhat unsuccessful time at the WWF. So could the team of Rhodes and Steamboat along with Windham at ringside get their revenge on The Enforcers by capturing their WCW World Tag Team Titles?

MATCH REVIEW : This a fantastic 15 minute match that shows how much WWF had misused Ricky Steamboat over the last few years. To be fair the match did have four men who were all more than able in the ring and for that reason we were provided a match that had it all really. The crowd energy was high from the moment Steamboat was announced as the mystery partner right until he made the pin to win the titles. The Enforcers were both veterans at this point and both managed to get heel heat with ease with great typical heel tactics alongside fantastic selling from the baby faces! Wonderfully overlooked match from the early 90s.
