MATCH : AJ Styles v Christopher Daniels v Samoa Joe

EVENT : Unbreakable

VENUE : Impact Zone, Orlando, Florida

DATE : 11th September 2005

Background : Christopher Daniels walked into this match as TNA X-Division Champion having held the title for a record six months since beating AJ Styles at Destination X. TNA set up a Super X Cup Tournament which would grant the winner a title shot against Daniels at the Unbreakable Pay-Per-View. Samoa Joe would win the tournament by beating AJ Styles in the final but due to Christopher Daniel's interference so Director of Authority, Larry Zbyszko, ordered a triple threat match instead. AJ had held the title on four seperate occasions and was a hot crowd favourite going into this match but Samoa Joe, who had just recently joined TNA, was on a 3 month undefeated streak having beaten everything in his path since his debut. All three men were hyped as the future of TNA and American wrestling in general, could they live up to this hype by putting on a show stealing match?

MATCH REVIEW : This was a phenomenal match that showcased all three men's talents and potrayed them all as contenders for the NWA X-Division Title. An action packed match with great psychology and excellent selling for a full 23 minutes that didn't even seem to stop for breathe. This match is in my opinion one of, if not the, best triple threat matches of all time with all three men putting in a ton of effort. It made for great viewing and gave a huge lift to wrestling fans everywhere that felt in 2005 that TNA could become a believable challenger to WWE as the best in the business if they continued to put on great matches like this whilst supporting good young talent. Six years on and unfortunately TNA has thus far not made it to those lofty heights and this match is still the best in this company's history.
