MATCH : Shawn Michaels v The Undertaker

EVENT : Wrestlemania 26

VENUE : University of Phoenix Stadium, Arizona

DATE : 28th March 2010

STIPULATION : No Disqualification Career v Streak Match

BACKGROUND : After tasting defeat at the hands of The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25, Shawn Michaels decided to challenge him to a re-match vowing to defeat him at the grandest stage of them all. At first, Undertaker refused Michaels offer of a re-match stating that he didn't feel Shawn was worthy of attempting to end his streak but once Shawn cost him the World Heavyweight Title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, 'Taker decided to put up his Wrestlemania winning streak as long as the Heartbreak Kid put his career on the line. Michaels accepted the stipulation stating that if he couldn't beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania then there was no reason to continue his career. These men had a wonderful history of matches together so could the trend continue with so much at stake?

MATCH REVIEW : A match packed with so much emotion that it almost brought a tear to my eye whilst watching and not many matches have done that over the years. Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker tore the house down in an absolute classic match that would turn out to be HBK's last of his career. Both these men are absolutely legendary in the business but what they lack in 2010 physically they make up by being able to tell an excellent story in the ring that has everyone on the edge of their seat. This match truely is a wonderful spectale and one of the greatest main events in WWE history. The next night on Raw, Shawn Michaels was able to say his goodbyes and received a standing ovation as a thank you for all he has done in the wrestling industry. A wonderful man with a wonderful career beaten by an equally wonderful man in an absolutely wonderful match. Wonderful!!
