MITSUHARU MISAWA

Inducted - 31st January 2012

Mitsuharu Misawa is not only considered one of the best Japanese Pro Wrestlers of all time, he is considered one of the best Pro Wrestlers to ever set foot in the ring. As an 8 time World Champion in Japan he has lifted the AJPW Triple Crown and GHC Heavyweight Championship amongst many other accolades. Misawa wrestled in Japan since his debut in 1981 till his unfortunate passing in 2009 and briefly wrestled as the second carnation of Tiger Mask. Misawa would be missed for both his in ring talent and his wrestling mind outside of the ring as he was one of the founder members of Pro Wrestling NOAH.

SHAWN MICHAELS

Inducted - 8th August 2012

Shawn Michaels was a fantastic performer in the WWF/E holding the World Title, Intercontinental Title, European Title and the Tag Team Titles up until 1998 where a back injury finished his career….or so we thought. Four years later he returned to fitness and although his style had changed in the ring he managed to have a second great run in the WWE putting on great matches with The Undertaker and Triple H amongst countless others. Michaels’ attitude was always put into question when he was younger but his talent was never in question. One of (if not the) best American all-round wrestler of all time ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ managed to win 4 World Titles in his illustrious career.

KENTA KOBASHI

Inducted - 27th March 2012

Kenta Kobashi is one of the greatest wrestlers to have ever come out of Japan and is still considered an absolute legend in that country. Kobashi was one of the infamous 5* wrestlers from Japan that constantly were putting on great matches in AJPW before moving to Pro Wrestling NOAH with partner/rival Mitsuharu Misawa. Picking up 4 World Titles between his debut in 1988 till his retirement in 2013, he will always be known as one of the best of any generation.

RIC FLAIR

Inducted - 8th October 2012

Nobody in the history of professional wrestling has won more World Titles than ‘The Nature Boy’ who amassed a record 16 World Title wins in his career. Flair is often considered to be the best the business has ever had with a run that started at the AWA in 1972 and was basically finished at Wrestlemania 24 in 2008. Flair was also seen as the leader and originator of the Four Horseman faction which has been argued as the best stable or faction of all time. With his trademark strut, robes, white hair and figure four leg lock Flair will always be one of the legends of our loved sport.

RICKY STEAMBOAT

Inducted - 15th October 2012

Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat is one of the most technically gifted men to have ever stepped foot in a wrestling ring. Always remembered fondly for his beautiful arm drags and his good guy image, Steamboat is one of the few wrestlers who played the baby face for his whole career. His matches against Randy Savage and Ric Flair are still described as some of the best matches of the 80’s. Steamboat held a lot of mid-card titles in his career but his biggest highlight was winning the NWA World Heavyweight Title in 1989.

BRET 'THE HITMAN' HART

Inducted - 28th February 2013

Bret’s wrestling career started at a very young age in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for his father’s Stampede Wrestling but that would soon catch the eyes of the WWF who would eventually make him one of the most iconic WWF World Champions of all time. Bret and his family have gone through some horrible tragedies over the years but I like to think that his triumphs in the ring shadow them. A proper ring technician, Bret is one of the greatest World Champions of all time holding 7 of them before his retirement in 1999. Bret also notched up several mid-card and tag team titles along the way.

KENTA

Inducted - 27th November 2012

KENTA is still a young man but he started his ring career at the age of 19 providing us with great matches at Pro Wrestling NOAH for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Title. Some may question why KENTA has been inducted before so many legends in the business but this website celebrates great wrestling matches and this young lad has done exactly that before his peak. I’m looking forward to much more from KENTA in the future and one day I am sure he will be classed as one of the best in his generation.

STEVE AUSTIN

Inducted - 23rd April 2013

Austin was undoubtedly the face of the most talked about ‘Attitude Era’ of Professional Wrestling that started in the 90’s. His feud with WWF/E owner Vince McMahon is probably the best feud in the history of wrestling playing up the common man against the CEO of a large company rivalry. His no nonsense anti-establishment speeches, beer drinking and swearing were a trademark of the generation he was entertaining and Austin soon became the biggest star of that decade. His wrestling style suited his attitude and will probably serve him well in his newest venture in Hollywood. Nobody will forget Austin or his 6 World Title reigns in the WWF/E and that’s the bottom line……’cause Stone Cold said so.

NAOMICHI MARUFUJI

Inducted - 3rd June 2013

Perhaps a surprise inclusion in the Roll of Honour for some people but Naomichi Marufuji has been involved in some of the best Japanese matches over the last decade. The highlight of his career would be when he defeated Jun Akiyama for the GHC Heavyweight Title in 2006 and is somewhat considered one of the best talents Pro Wrestling NOAH has ever had. One for the future perhaps but he will soon be known as a legend in the Japanese Wrestling industry, if he isn’t already.

KURT ANGLE

Inducted - 1st July 2013

The first professional wrestler to have won a gold medal at the Olympics and a World Title in professional wrestling, Kurt Angle is still held in great regard as one of the most technically gifted wrestlers of all time. Angle spent eight years in the WWF/E over the Attitude Era and won 6 World Titles in that time before moving to TNA Wrestling where he picked up another 5 World Titles. Often remembered for his quick rise to fame when he won his first World Title within a year of debuting for the WWF/E, Angle will always be known as one of the best of his generation.

EDGE

Inducted - 17th June 2013

Edge is one of the best wrestlers to have come from the WWF Attitude Era, managing to go from Tag Team specialist alongside his good friend Christian all the way to main eventing many Pay-Per-Views in the 2000s. Edge is the second Canadian to be inducted into the Roll of Honour and will always be remembered for changing the dynamic of American wrestling with his risky style and his speciality ladder matches. His 11 World Title reigns, 14 Tag Title reigns, King of the Ring Title and Royal Rumble glory in 2010 are proof that this man is the one of the most iconic stars of the last decade.

CHRIS BENOIT

Inducted - 16th July 2013

The Roll of Honour is to celebrate wrestlers who have entertained us in the ring and this is exactly what Chris Benoit did. Unfortunately, Benoit left a bad legacy when he passed on that will never be forgotten or that he will ever be forgiven for. His 2 World Title reigns and countless mid card titles in various companies around the world prove that he was a great in ring technician and that shouldn’t be forgotten either.

TRIPLE H

Inducted - 16th July 2013

Often hated for the way he rose to the top, Triple H is sometimes underrated as a great in ring performer. ‘The Game’ as he was often known is still a ring general and has done it all in the WWF/E from winning 13 World Titles, winning King of the Ring in 1997, winning the Royal Rumble in 2002 and has he has won multiple mid-card titles and tag team belts. Triple H will also be remembered for playing a big part in two of the greatest factions of all time in D-Generation X and Evolution. Now Triple H leads the talent in WWE as Chief Operating Officer but his fierce rivalries with The Rock, Mick Foley and good friend Shawn Michaels is what Triple H will be most fondly remembered for.

JEFF HARDY

Inducted - 4th November 2013

Jeff Hardy’s unique style is what most people will associate with the man but his long career as both a singles and tag team wrestler alongside his brother, Matt, is unquestionably a great one. Jeff worldwide has won countless Tag Team titles but his solo career has also seen him win 6 World Titles in America. Although he has had his bad times, Jeff has always been a constant performer and entertainer in the ring and his high flying risqué style is what will always set Hardy apart from the others.

TOSHIAKI KAWADA

Inducted - 16th September 2013

Along with Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi and Jun Akiyama in the 1990’s Toshiaki Kawada was known for his outstanding matches in All Japan Professional Wrestling. Kawada’s stiff style will always be remembered alongside his 5 Triple Crown Championships. Making his debut in 1982 and leaving AJPW in 2005 makes Kawada one of the longest serving wrestlers for the company and his legendary status is assured in Japan. Not many have had the success that this man has had in his native country.

THE UNDERTAKER

Inducted - 4th November 2013

Nobody in wrestling has or will ever have the aura of The Undertaker. Spending most of his career in the WWF/E he has been involved in some of the best angles in wrestling history including his amazing Wrestlemania streak. Debuting in 1990 he has never looked back since as he won his first World Title just 12 months after his debut and collected another 6 World Titles since. The Undertaker’s style was very much gimmick driven in his first few years but in his later years he was able to put on some fantastic matches with Shawn Michaels, Edge and Triple H often saving his best for Wrestlemania season. The ‘Dead Man’ has done it all in the WWF/E and will always be considered one of the greatest of all time.

JOHN CENA

Inducted - 13th November 2013

John Cena has been the face of the WWE for almost a decade now and always manages to consistently put on good to great matches on almost every PPV. Nobody in the business has sold as much merchandise as this man in any era of professional wrestling. With 15 World Titles to his name he is man most likely to beat Ric Flair’s record 16 World Titles if it is ever beaten. Cena still has a lot more years in him but when does finally hang up his boots he will definitely be known as one of the most hard working wrestlers of all time.

VINCE K. McMAHON

Inducted - 10th March 2014

Vincent Kennedy McMahon is the owner of the biggest professional wrestling company in history, WWE, and has been since around 1982 when he inherited the company from his father. Vince has always been an on-air figure usually commentating or presenting until 1997 when he first became known on-air as the owner of the company. His feud with Steve Austin is often regarded as the best rivalry the Professional Wrestling industry has ever seen with McMahon becoming a full blown heel to start the Attitude Era. McMahon has also been involved in the ring having matches against the likes of Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and his own son Shane McMahon.

 CHRIS JERICHO

Inducted - 24th December 2013

‘Y2J’ Chris Jericho has been in and out of the wrestling industry for well over 20 years and his experience is now helping younger wrestlers gain knowledge. Jericho’s brash attitude has seen him feud with almost everyone in his illustrious career including great matches with Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit and Edge. His 6 World Title reigns are proof that the Canadian is seen as one of the best of his generation having worked all over the world. His championship accomplishments are a very long list having won loads of mid-card titles and tag team titles in his career. Jericho will always be fondly remembered for being one of the best on the mic of all time.

JIM 'JR' ROSS

Inducted - 10th March 2014

Jim Ross started his commentary career at Mid-South Wrestling in 1982 and soon became an excellent play-by-play man. JR as he was affectionately known would be an ever present commentating on some of the greatest NWA matches of the 1980’s before signing for WWF/E in 1993. His first nights work was at Wrestlemania 9 (dressed in a toga) but over the years he has proven to be one of, if not the, best play-by-play commentators of all time and the voice of the Attitude Era in WWF/E.

'MACHO MAN' RANDY SAVAGE

Inducted - 9th April 2014

Randy Savage very rarely had a bad match. If you think that he was involved in wrestling for around 32 years then that is some feat. Savage was technically as gifted as they come and was one of the pioneers of the high flying style that you see a lot today. With 7 World Titles to his name and amazing feuds over the years with Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, Savage will always be a legend in the industry. Unfortunately, his passing in 2011 was one of the most tragic in wrestling because of his iconic hero status but we will always remember his great matches over the years.

MATT HARDY

Inducted - 12th August 2014

Possibly a surprise inclusion into the Roll of Honour but you have to remember that this man has put on some terrific matches in the tag team division with his brother Jeff. Matt’s only World Title success came in the form of the ECW World Title but his Tag Team Title success has seen him lift the strap on 8 separate occasions in the WWF/E. He was also one of the pioneers of the extreme ladder matches with his brother and Edge and Christian.

AKIRA TAUE

Inducted - 5th June 2014

A 25 year career has seen Akira Taue in many feuds and great matches. Possibly most remembered for his clashes with Mitsuahru Misawa and Kenta Kobashi this man was also involved in some great tag team matches with his partner Toshiaki Kawada. Having won the AJPW Triple Crown and GHC Heavyweight Title both on one occasion the man is definitely one of the greatest Japanese wrestlers of all time but his 7 Tag Team title reigns are almost unrivalled in Japan.

CM PUNK

Inducted - 21st October 2014

Punk may be in a hiatus at the moment but his career since he began wrestling in 1999 has been an incredible story. From being one of the best wrestlers in the independent scene for many years he eventually got his big break at the WWE in 2005. Over the years he has lifted 7 World Titles and had become one of the most watched wrestlers of his generation. Punk was known for putting on great matches but to me none were as good as his bout with John Cena at Money in the Bank 2011 which was one of the best matches in WWE history.

REY MYSTERIO

Inducted - 21st October 2014

In my opinion Rey Mysterio is the most successful cruiserweight wrestler of all time. Rey managed to win 3 World Titles in the WWE which is pretty much unheard of from a man who stands at 5”7 and weighs around 175ibs. Rey will be best remembered for his flamboyant masks and innovative high flying style but he has always impressed in the ring managing to win the 2006 Royal Rumble and have his Wrestlemania moment. No matter what company Rey was working for he always delivered great matches with the likes of his good friend Eddie Guerrero.

CHRISTIAN

Inducted - 18th November 2014

Along with his good friend, Edge, Christian rose through the WWF/E tag team division but found it difficult breaking through as a singles wrestler. It was at that point that he decided to jump ship to TNA Wrestling where he would make waves as a main event player. Christian spent a good 4 years at TNA before moving back to WWE where he would be far more successful. Christian has always been a great in ring performer and was always very entertaining on the microphone. In his career he has won 6 World Titles, loads of mid-card titles and is a 9 time tag team champion.

KANE

Inducted - 14th November 2014

The gimmick of Kane probably wasn’t meant to last as long as it has but credit has to go to Glenn Jacobs who has made it work. Kane first appeared as The Undertaker’s estranged brother in 1997 and has since then won 3 World Titles. Over the years Kane has looked very different but his work rate has never been questioned. People can sometimes forget that he has been around for 17 years with most of that time spent in the upper card. Kane has won several mid-card titles and 12 tag team titles over the years.

RANDY ORTON

Inducted - 18th November 2014

As the son of ‘Cowboy’ Bob Orton a lot of pressure was placed on Randy’s shoulders but he managed that pressure by becoming the youngest World Champion in WWE history at the age of 24. Orton made his debut in the Evolution stable in 2002 and over the last 12 years has been a main event player winning almost every title he can win including 12 World Titles. Many believe Orton to be one of the best all round wrestlers of all time and he is certainly one of the greatest of his generation. Randy will always be remembered for his ‘RKO’ signature move.

ROB VAN DAM

Inducted - 25th November 2014

Rob Van Dam made his name in ECW and quickly became a cult hero in wrestling in the mid 90’s. His unique style made him one of the most innovative wrestlers of his generation and was one of the reasons he had such success in the USA. In 2001 he became a prominent figure in the WWE’s invasion storyline and was one of Paul Heyman’s many managed successes’ over the years. RVD has won 3 World Titles and many mid-card titles in three separate promotions and will always be remembered for his athletic ability in the ring.

THE ROCK

Inducted - 21st March 2015

Nobody in the wrestling business has succeeded in Hollywood to the extent that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has but his wrestling career was brought him that great success. One of, if not the, most charismatic characters to set foot in a wrestling ring and one of the first third generation stars. The Rock had instant success in the WWE where he would end up winning 10 World Championships along with 2 Intercontinental Titles and 5 Tag Team Titles. The Rock will always be known as a legend in the industry and due to his now commercial success outside of wrestling is one of the most household names in America.

 DANIEL BRYAN

Inducted - 20th March 2015

Daniel Bryan is one of the most over faces in the WWE in the current era but he is popularity started a long time before he made it to the big leagues. Many would describe Daniel Bryan (or Bryan Danielson as he was then known) as King of the Indies as he made his way through all of the independent promotions winning various championships. When he made his way to the WWE it took time for him to settle but to date he has now managed to win 4 World Titles one of which was the headliner main event at Wrestlemania 30.

BOBBY 'THE BRAIN' HEENAN

Inducted - 6th April 2015

When people name the greatest managers in Pro Wrestling history there is usually one man that sits at the top of most lists - Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan! Heenan is well known as drawing brilliant heel heat in the AWA, WWF and laterly as a commentator in WCW. His best time came as manager/colour commentator in WWF when he took Rick Rude, Curt Hennig, Andre the Giant and many more to the top! His partnership at the commentary booth alongside Gorilla Monsoon is one of the greatest duos in wrestling history!

 JIMMY HART

Inducted - 6th April 2015

The 'Mouth of the South' has managed some of the greatest wrestlers of all time including Hulk Hogan, Hart Foundation, Jerry Lawler, Ted Dibiase and Honky Tonk Man. He is well known for being the wimpy manager that stuck his nose into his clients matches whenever he could which drew great heat from the fans. Jimmy Hart was one of the best at being the man you loved to hate. Jimmy Hart and his iconic megaphone are more than deserving of the Roll of Honour!

HULK HOGAN

Inducted - 21st April 2015

There is not a lot that can be said about Hulk Hogan that hasn't already been said. Hogan is in my opinion the biggest star the Wrestling industry has ever built and is one of the few household name wrestlers. His 12 World Title reigns in WWF and WCW serve as some of the most iconic times in both companies history. Hogan brought Hulkamania into children's lives all over the world and his charisma when he came into the ring is nearly unbeatable. A true living legend!

 BOB BACKLUND

Inducted - 21st April 2015

Bob Backlund is one of the biggest names in WWF history and still has the second longest World Title reign the company has ever had lasting an incredible 2,135 days. The American hero gave fans reason to cheer with some great feuds with Sgt Slaughter, Jimmy Snuka and 'Superstar' Billy Graham. When his title reign ended in 1983 Backlund would disappear from wrestling for a decade before returning to the WWF and once again reclaiming the WWF World Title. Unfortunately his second spell only lasted a mere 3 days. His heel run and feud with Bret Hart was also one of the best character changes of the 90's.

THE DUDLEY BOYZ

Inducted - 22nd September 2015

The Dudley Boyz are the first tag team to be entered in to The Roll of Honour after many years of great matches. The Dudleys rose to prominence in ECW before making the trip to the WWE where they had several great encounters with The Hardy Brothers and Edge & Christian in the Attitude Era. They both left WWE for TNA Wrestling but have recently returned to the WWE after a ten year absence. With 23 World Tag Team Titles between them they will always be argued as one of the best of all time.

MICK FOLEY

Inducted - 6th October 2015

Mick Foley may not have have had the physique that normally is favoured in the world of Pro Wrestling but what he did have was the heart for the industry. Foley was a fan of Pro Wrestling first and a Pro Wrestler second! Whether he was competing as one of his alter egos - Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love or as himself he always entertained the public and he will always be remembered as a true wrestling legend. Foley picked up 4 World Titles in his career and is now a WWE Hall of Famer.

The Big Show is one of those rare wrestling characters that don't come along very often. Standing at 7ft tall and weighing an enormous 450ibs the man is an actual giant! Winning titles everywhere he has been including an amazing 7 World Championships, 11 Tag Team Titles and numerous mid-card championships the man has had success in wrestling for 20 years straight. Booker T can be fondly remembered for his over the top character and his likeable attitude whenever he was in the ring. Booker T has 6 World Titles, 15 Tag Team Titles and almost every mid-card championship to his name including the prestigious King of the Ring tournament.

BROCK LESNAR

Inducted - 22nd January 2016

Brock Lesnar was the first and to date only former WWE Champion to have won the UFC Heavyweight Title which just highlights how much of a real life badass Brock is! The man BEAST is a suplex machine and has brought a whole load of authenticity to the modern era of professional wrestling. As well as being a former UFC champion and an NCAA Wrestling Champion he has held 5 World Championships in Pro Wrestling. Lesnar will also be known for defeating the Undertaker's undefeated streak and being a KIng of the Ring and Royal Rumble winner.

EDDIE GUERRERO

Inducted - 24th March 2016

Eddie Guerrero had wrestling in his blood as the Guerrero name is synonyms with professional wrestling. Eddie touched peoples hearts in the 2000's and will always be remembered for his great rivalries with Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit. Unfortunately, many tears were dropped when he sadly passed away at a young age in 2005 but he has written himself into record books with his WWE World Title win, 2 x US Title wins and 2 x Intercontinental Title wins. Eddie is a WWE Hall of Famer and is now in the Roll of Honour!!

'MEAN' GENE OKERLUND

Inducted - 3rd April 2016

Gene Okerlund was nothing short of a legend when it comes to announcing in and outside of the ring. The man wwith the mic has always been a gentleman but managed to get all the answers from wrestlers with his grilling interviewing style. In my opinion nobody will be able to replace 'Mean' Gene in the role he played for both the WWF and WCW in the 80's and 90's and fans will always remember Okerlund very fondly.

 GORDON SOLIE

Inducted - 3rd April 2016

Gordon Solie was one of the best play-by-play commentators the world of Professional Wrestling has ever heard. Solie was best known for his time in Georgia Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Florida and World Championship Wrestling and was a familiar voice for many wrestling fans across the globe. His work inspired a young Jim Ross and you can see in JR's commentary style that Gordon Solie made a lasting impression to him. Fans will never forget his pronunciation of the word 'Suplex'.

SCOTT HALL

Inducted 12th April 2016

Scott Hall had many failed alter egos before eventually finding fame as Razor Ramon in WWF where in the early 90's he would have several Intercontinental Title reigns and a fantastic feud with Shawn Michaels. In 1997 though Hall defected to WCW where he and Kevin Nash started the nWo faction. His WCW stay was even more of a success and included 2 US Title reigns and several tag team title reigns. Scott has also battled alcohol and drug addiction over the years but survives as one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions of all time and as a name many discuss as the greatest man to never hold a World Title.

 KEVIN NASH

Inducted - 12th April 2016

Kevin Nash was similar to his 'kliq' friend Scott Hall in that he took sometime before finding the right gimmick in his career. It wasn't until Nash made the trip to the WWF where he would become Shawn Michael's bodyguard 'Diesel'. This persona would give Nash the chance to win the WWF World Title, Intercontinental title and Tag Team titles. When Nash alongside Hall left for WCW to form the nWo faction, he would become one of the biggest stars in wrestling and would go on to win another 5 World Titles in WCW. Nash is one of the best big men the wrestling business has ever seen!

DAVEY BOY SMITH

Inducted - 28th April 2016

'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith is most probably the most famous wrestler the United Kingdom has ever produced. His brute strength mixed with agility seen him and his tag team partner Dynamite Kid become one of the fiercest tag teams in wrestling history. When Smith became a singles wrestler he was a strong upper mid-card guy for his entire career. Another guy that never got a chance to hold the World Title, he did manage to win several mid-card titles and main event Wembley Stadium at Summerslam 1992 opposite his brother-in-law Bret Hart.

OWEN HART

Inducted - 28th April 2016

Owen was the youngest of all the Hart Brothers but may well have been the most talented in the ring. Owen hit the big time when he was involved in one of my favourite feuds of all time when he was pitted against his brother. The feud contained one of the best matches of all time at Wrestlemania 10 and a superb cage match at Summerslam. Owen went on to win everything in the WWF/E except from the World Title which I am certain he would have won had it not been for his untimely death in 1999. Owen will always be one of my personal favourites in the world of proffessional wrestling.

MIDNIGHT EXPRESS

Inducted - 4th May 2016

'Beautiful' Bobby Eaton and 'Sweet' Stan Lane along with their manager James E. Cornette were just one incarnation of the famous Midnight Express tag team but were probably the most recognisable and infamous. The heel duo along with their over the top manager are easily one of the greatest tag teams of all time and to prove it they won both the NWA World Tag Team Titles and the NWA US Tag Team Titles. The team will always be remembered for their fantastic feuds with the Rock & Roll Express and Road Warriors amongst many others.
